36 NRENs collaborating through GÉANT have concluded a Pan-European tender for IaaS services, resulting in agreements with 23 vendors of such services. The agreements are such that 10 000 research and education institutions are now able to procure services without any tendering themselves. The session will give an overview of the results of the tender and the early implementation experiences of users – both NRENs and institutions. The session will also showcase the latest use cases and technology implementations from key vendors to demonstrate how cloud services are being delivered to the users through innovative service contracts and networking infrastructures.
