By bus

The easiest way to reach Trondheim city centre from Vaernes airport is by bus.  Depending your destination in Trondheim, the journey will take about 30-40 minutes.  Buses are parked right outside the airport exit and leave every 10-20 minutes.

The two bus companies are Værnes Ekspressen and Netbuss (Flybussen):

Værnes-Ekspressen

All Værnes-Ekspressen buses go in the same direction, and depart every 10-20 minutes. Please check their departure schedule. If your final destination is the Scandic Lerkendal,  we suggest to take the Værnes-Ekspressen.

Note 1: If your final destination are Scandic Bakklandet or Scandic Solsiden,  please leave the bus at the stop for Radisson Blu Royal Garden.

Note 2: If your final destination is the Thon Hotel, please leave the bus at the stop for Prinsen Kinosenter.

Tickets can be purchased from the bus driver. Værnes-Ekspressen accepts NOK (cash) and creditcard (Visa, MasterCard and Diners). Tickets can also be purchased online.

Nettbuss (Flybussen)

All Nettbuss buses (Flybussen) go in the same direction and depart every 10 minutes. Please check their departure schedule (or here).

Note 1: Is your final destination Scandic Bakklandet or Scandic Solsiden? Please leave the bus at the stop at Søndre gate.

Note 2: Is your final destination Thon Hotel? Please leave the bus at the stop for Prinsen Kinosenter.

Tickets can be purchased with from bus driver, however you will get a better rate when purchasing tickets in advance online.

By taxi

The taxi stand is located directly outside the arrival hall. Find here all taxi companies departing from the airport. A taxi ride from the airport to the city will cost you about NOK600 (€65).
